FAQ

Basic Rules:

​

• At least one member of each team must be 18 years of age or older.

​

• City Quest is a physically active event. You can expect to walk 1-3 miles. Players should be in reasonably good physical shape. You don't need to be an athlete (or a trivia expert) but you should be able to think and act quickly, and work together as a team. No special skills or abilities are required. Running is optional, but often can be advantageous.

• During the Quest you will not need your car, the boundaries of the Quest are small enough that you can walk to all locations

​

• You are welcome to use your cell phone to assist you. You will not be able to find the answers to clues on the internet but you may find locations that will lead you to those answers.

​

• There may be locations where running or excessive noise are not permitted. Failure to follow this rule may result in disqualification from the race.

​

• Team members must travel together at all times and may not split up or separate 

​

• Traffic laws must be observed at all times. No jaywalking, or illegally crossing streets

Can we book city quest for our large group or private event?

Absolutely! We would love to help you set up your private event. We can even make fun alterations to our adventure to fit your specific needs. Please contact us at info@cocityquest.com to work out details.

When should I show up for the City Quest?

Please arrive at least 15 min before the start of the quest. Keep in mind that City Quest usually takes place in the downtown which can lead to traffic issues and difficulty finding parking. Please make sure to factor this into your travel time.

What is the refund/exchange policy?

Because this is a live event all sales are final there are no refunds. If you need to reschedule your City Quest please do so 48 hrs before the event. There is a 10$ rebooking fee.

Can I bring my kids?

While there is no age restriction the games are designed for adults. City Quest is not recommended for children under 12 yrs of age.

Can I add more people to my group or change group members?

You can have up to 4 people on your team beyond that your group will need to divide into two separate teams. You are welcome to work together and help each other during the City Quest if you choose. You are allowed to change group members on the day of your City Quest.

How long is the Quest?

The Quest has a 2 hr time limit. Some teams may finish faster and will need to wait until time expires to discover the results of the game.

Do the winners get prizes?

Yes we have a prize for the winning team that usually involves treats and goods from local vendors in the location of your City Quest.

Does it include dangerous tasks?

No, Just be sure to look both ways before crossing the street and obey all traffic laws (no jaywalking)

What do we need to bring?

A backpack or small bag is useful to carry water as you will walk 1-3 miles around the city. In addition to this bring a pen or pencil for note taking and writing answers and a few dollars as some of the bonus tasks may ask you to acquire certain items.

Can we use our cell phones?

Yes you are welcome to use your cell phone to assist you. You will not be able to find the answers to clues on the internet but you may find locations that will lead you to those answers.

Can I play the same game twice?

You can but it is not advised. Many of the questions will most likely be the same, this will make the game unfair for others and most likely not as fun and engaging for you and your group. Instead try another game in a new city!!!

Do you have any winners?

The team with the most points at the end of the timed event will win. Team will earn points by answering clue questions correctly, finishing the quest faster and in some cases completing bonus challenges. The winning team will receive a small prize that is usually some treat or other good from a local vendor.

How are the clues organized?

Clues are given to your team in an envelope. The clues are in no special order. Each team will have to devise their own strategy on how they will manage their clues. All answers must be recorded on the answer sheet.

Can teams be disqualified?

Players will be disqualified from the race for intentionally cheating, or abusing/harassing race monitors or other participants. You must follow all traffic laws including crossing signs. You will be disqualified for disorderly conduct or harassing pedestrians and shop owners.

Where do we meet up?

Each game has instructions on a specific meet up location. If you cannot find the location please email us at info@cocityquest.com

Any tips or suggestions?

Read all clues carefully and make sure that you are answering the question in the correct way. Talk to each other and share all your information. Split up the clue cards read through them before beginning your quest, you never know when you will pass a location you need and doubling back can take time
